Vinesh Phogat brought laurels to the country as she became the first Indian woman wrestler to win an Asian Games Gold after she defeated Japan’s Yuki Irie in the 50 kilogram women’s Freestyle final. This was India’s second gold after wrestler Bajrang Punia bagged one in men’s 65kg on Sunday. Soon after her win, congratulatory messages started pouring on the social media and some of those messages came from renowned Bollywood celebrities including Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar.
Big B took to Twitter to congratulate Phogat and said she has made everyone proud.
On the other hand, Aamir praised Vinesh by reiterating his famous dialogue from 'Dangal', a film based on the Phogat family.
He wrote, "Congratulations Vinesh for winning the Gold in the Asian Games. We are all so proud of you. Love, Aamir and the team of Dangal. Mhaari chhoriyan chhoron se kam hai ke!"

Earlier, the Indian wrestler had defeated Dauletbike Yakhshimuratova of Uzbekistan 10-0 with a technical superiority in the semi-final clash of the event.
Meanwhile, Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik lost her bronze medal bout 2-12 against Rim jong sim of Korea in women's 62 kg freestyle wrestling category. India's total medal tally stands at five with two golds, two silvers and one bronze.
