Alia Bhatt trolled for promoting Gully Boy

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy is getting rave reviews from all corners. The movie, which is loosely based on rappers Divine and Naezy has been helmed by Zoya Akhtar. Amidst the heap of praises the film is receiving, the Gully Boy team got a priceless reaction from veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who is currently in the US for medical treatment.

Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter and wrote,''Hearing great things about Gully Boy. My best to the team for the great success''. He also penned a special message for the film's director Zoya Akhtar. He wrote "Zoya, you do it again. Alia retweeted the message with heart emoticons. Check out the tweet below:

However, this didn't go down well with Tweeple, who started slamming her for promoting her film when the entire country is mourning the death of over 40 CRPF soldiers, who martyred in Pulwama terror attack. ''Should shun tweeting such things in the time of grief. #CRPFJawans,'' a comment read. Another user commented, ''Whole country is serious about #pulwama attack and she is even now promoting her movie''.

On a related note, Alia is rumoured to be dating Ranbir Kapoor. The duo was spotted together at the special screening of the film. Alia and Ranbir are often spotted together. Recently, their picture is going viral on social media in which they are dining in together. The rumoured couple often flies down to New York to meet Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. This also gives them the opportunity to spend some quality time together. Have a look at the photos below:

Gully Boy is Ranveer and Alia's first film together but their on-screen chemistry is impeccable. While Ranveer plays aspiring rapper Murad from Mumbai slums, Alia is his girlfriend Safeena, who is a medical student. Other actors in the movie are Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Maurya, Vijay Raaz and Amruta Subhash.

For Gully Boy, India TV movie critic wrote, ''Gully Boy is a path-breaking film. It's nothing like those masala inspirational, motivational films you see in Bollywood where everything sets right in the end magically. Things are seen progressing organically in the film and that's the essence of every Zoya Akhtar directorial. Without glorification or Bollywoodification as we would like to say, Gully Boy is a masterpiece in Indian cinema. The loose ending adds to the artistic value of the film''.
