Alia Bhatt talks about absence of father Mahesh Bhatt in her life, says I didn’t miss him

Alia Bhatt is now very close to her father and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. But such was not a case before 2012 when she made debut in Bollywood with Student of the Year. The actress is currently basking in the success of her latest film Gully Boy, which has crossed Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office. During an interview, which she attended with her mother Soni Razdan, Alia Bhatt spoke about absence of her father Mahesh Bhatt from her childhood.

She said, “For me, he was always like a celebrity who would walk in to the house. I didn’t miss him as such because I did not really have him. But after a couple of years, he made sure he spent some time with us, played board games. The real friendship started when I entered the Bollywood industry and I understand how it must have been for him. It is such a consuming job.”

Soni Razdan, who shared the screen space with Alia Bhatt in Raazi as her on screen mother told how her daughter was as a child. She said, “Alia was a very obedient child, the only thing she was fussy about was what dress she wore. I would have to give her choices and she would pick her dress out knowing very well exactly what she wanted to wear."

Alia Bhatt is very close to her mother and Bollywood actress Soni Razdan. The duo drop mushy comments on each other’s social media post quite often.

On the work front, Alia Bhatt will be next seen in Kalank with Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt. She will also share screen space with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra.
