Ajay Devgn’s father Veeru Devgn passes away
Ajay Devgn’s father Veeru Devgan, who was a popular action director and stunt choreographer in Bollywood passed away on Monday. It is said that he was keeping unwell for a long time and was hospitalized. On Monday morning, he complained of breathlessness and was rushed to Surya hospital, Santa Cruz where he succumbed to cardiac arrest. Earlier also, the popular stunt choreographer was admitted to the hospital and son Ajay Devgn cancelled many of his promotional events of his just-released film De De Pyaar De to be by his side.
Veeru Devgan was a popular name in the world of showbiz. He is known for his spectacular work in films like Himmatwala in 1983, Dilwale in 1994, Himmatwala in 1983, Shahenshaah in 1988 and others. He has worked in more than 80 films as a stunt choreographer and has also directed a Bollywood film titled Hindustan Ki Kasam in 1999. Last Year in April, Ajay Devgn took to his Instagram to share a throwback picture with his father Veeru Devgn with a caption, “A memory returned!”
Bollywood critic and Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also confirmed the news through his social media. He wrote, "Veeru Devgan passed away this morning [27 May 2019]... Father of Ajay Devgn... Veeru ji was an accomplished action director... Also directed #HindustanKiKasam, starring son Ajay with Amitabh Bachchan... Funeral will be held today at 6 pm... Heartfelt condolences to Devgn family."
As per reports, funeral will be held today evening at Vile Parle West Crematorium at 6:00Pm.
Talking about Veeru Devgan's professional front, the popular action director has had a glorious career in Bollywood. In 1992, he was awarded Best Action Director for his work in the film Phool Aur Kaante. He was also acknowledged with Lifetime Achievement Award by Zee Cine Awards in 2016.
