Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to come together for Sahir Ludhianvi’s biopic?

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is one Bollywood couple that set major relationship goals every time they make a public appearance. Fans were highly disheartened when the two dynamic actors opted out of Sarvesh Mewara's next film Gulab Jamun but looks like, there is a reason to celebrate yet again. Going by the latest buzz, Abhishek Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are all set to star in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film which is a biopic on Sahir Ludhianvi.

Reports in Mid-Day suggests that Abhishek will step into the shoes of famous Bollywood lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi for the film and Aishwarya will play the role of the celebrated Punjabi poetess Amrita Pritam. The film is said to be on Sahir-Amrita’s love story. However, nothing is confirmed yet. Many other celebrities’ names have also popped up for the film. Earlier it was said that Shah Rukh Khan might play the popular lyricist in the film but the rumours calmed down soon after. Also, names like Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra have also popped up to play Amrita Pritam in the film.

Recently, in an interview, Aishwarya dropped a hint of her upcoming project. She said, "Normally when it comes to announcing my future projects, I leave it to the prerogative of my directors and producers. I have just very recently okayed a wonderful script and idea and character. So, I’ll let them make the announcement. And that is to start much later this year."

On the other hand, a statement by Prerna Singh,CEO of Bhansali Productions, read, “There has always been curiousity when it comes to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film. While the fans celebrated his recent success at the Mirchi Music Awards with Padmaavat sweeping the album of the year and SLB winning the Music Composer of the year, they are also awaiting details on his next. Bringing in his birthday, SLB puts all speculations to rest as he announces his next directorial. The magic of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was missed by fans for 19 years and left them waiting for the director-actor to reunite. After Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, SLB and Salman Khan come together in a love story.”
