Just when the entertainment industry is still trying to cope up with Kavi Kumar Azad aka Dr Hathi’s death, another sad news knocked its doors. A 32-year-old screenplay writer has reportedly committed suicide in Mumbai on Wednesday. Ravi Shankar Alok was a resident of Seven Bungalows area in Andheri West. He ended his life by jumping off from the roof of the building where he lived around 2 pm on Wednesday. Ravi was a part of Nana Patekar’s iconic film Ab Tak Chappan. No suicide note has been retrieved from his body or his house.
The police officer claims that Ravi Shankar Alok was battling depression and was also undergoing treatment for the same. Suburban Versova police are conducting the further investigation into the matter.
A neighbour told Mumbai Mirror, “We rarely saw Alok. We immediately called an ambulance and the police arrived later. We didn’t know much about the resident except that he was some sort of artist. The society’s watchman told the leading daily, “The terrace is usually locked. I don’t know how Alok gained access to the area.”
