Kangana Ranaut is controversy’s favourite child. During the promotion and release of her last film Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, the actress made many statements regarding other Bollywood celebrities who never encourage her for her work an don’t even attend the screening of her movies. One of the actors was Aamir Khan who celebrates his 54th birthday today. Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan celebrated his birthday by cutting a cake with the media persons and responded to the actress’ allegation of snubbing her last film.
Superstar Aamir Khan said he was not aware of Kangana Ranaut being upset with him for not supporting her film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Kangana, in an interview, had claimed that she had attended the screening of Aamir's films Dangal and Secret Superstar, but the actor did not return the favour when it came to her movies. "She was upset with me? Why?" Aamir asked when informed about Kangana's statement. "She never told me she is upset with me. When I meet her I will ask her," he added.
Post Manikarnika release, Kangana had attacked various Bollywood celebrities including Aamir and Alia Bhatt for not backing her films. Kangana while talking to Pinkvilla said that, “Dangal, for me, was a film about women empowerment. But they don't have time for any of my trails. I have two-three films coming up, but I don't expect people to write about them,” she was quoted as saying. Besides Aamir, Kangana also accused Alia Bhatt of not lending any support to her films saying she doesn't know "what they are threatened by."
While Aamir has always expressed that he loves Kangana’s work and also revealed that he desires to share screen space with the actress, she doesn't see it as her "immediate goal". Kangana, last year in a media interaction said, "We would definitely like to work with each other. But I don't think that as actors, that's the priority we have. Our goal is to do things that excite us and along the way if we find an opportunity, it'll be great! But I don't think that's the priority...that's not my immediate goal."
On the related note, on his 54th birthday, Aamir Khan announced his next film is titled as Lal Singh Chaddha and will go on floors in October 2019. It is an official adaptation of Forrest Gump and is slated to release next year. Helmed by Secret Superstar director Advait Chandan, the film requires Aamir to lose 20 kilos in six months.
