On Sunday, Boney Kapoor, Kushi Kapoor and Jhanvi Kapoor flew from Mumbai to Rameshwaram with the late legendary actress’ ashes in an urn. A picture of the trio immersing the ashes in the sea water surfaced online. They are the last mortal remains of the diva who ruled the silver screen for decades.
Clad in a beautiful red kanjivaram sarree, her mortal remains were cremated on February 28 with state honours. Besides the Kapoor family, the prayer meet and funeral were attended by celebrities from the Indian film industry.
Despite a life spent entirely in the movie business, colleagues described Sridevi as quiet and shy on the sets until she faced the camera, when several of them recalled how she would “transform” into the character she was playing.
Sridevi was last seen in Mom alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna. Her cameo appearance in Shah Rukh Khan's Zero will be her last film.
