Birthdays are special moments, especially milestones. Model turned actress Amyra Dastur, who turns 25 today, has been a closed book so far. We may know all little details about her beauty and fitness regimes but not much is known about her private life. From going to therapy for various reasons to looking like a boy when she was young, Amyra has a lot hidden deep inside her soul.
On the occasion of the actress’s 25th birthday, here are 5 things you didn’t know about her.
1. Her Insane Obsession with Socks
Amyra Dastur has an insane obsession when it comes to covering her feet. She wears socks 24/7 and hates any shoes/heels/flats that are open toed. The Telugu actress has even admitted to having worn socks a few times in the sea!
2. Huge Marvel Fan
She is a Marvel and DC geek! Amyra has watched Avengers: Infinity War 3 times since its release and knows the backstories of all the Avengers and has very good knowledge of the Marvel and DC universes. She has also started collecting comic books to know more and takes pride in calling herself a nerd!
3. She was a Chubby Kid
Amyra was a really chubby kid in her pre-teens, but after being sent to a boarding school in Pune, just before she turned 13, she developed a love for sports, fitness and eating right. She believes that her discipline and independence truly developed because of the 2 years she spent at boarding school. Amyra even claims that she looked like a boy in her teens.
4. Rough at Sports
Amyra played both football and badminton in her school days. She even came first and second during inter-school badminton tournaments. She was a runner so naturally, her football skills were quite on point as she could run very fast, although the Raju Gadu actress admits she was fouled pretty badly a couple of times and received 2 hairline fractures on separate occasions because of the rough play.
5. Her Anger issues as a Child
Amyra Dastur was no easy kid. She was very short-tempered and even hurt herself to the extreme as a child. One day when Amyra was at a friend’s place, she tried calling her mother, when she didn’t pick, she smashed her wrist into a glass table in anger. This cost her more than a year of her life, as she had to undergo physiotherapy in England. She had to drop a school year as she couldn't write for nearly nine months.
Amyra Dastur has always been the lady of her wishes. From calling the industry ‘high school’ to living up her dreams, Amyra has never bend to stereotypes and walked down her own path.
We wish her a very Happy 25th Birthday!
