26/11 Mumbai Terror Attacks: Anupam Kher remembers battle against evil, says ‘Never Forgive Never Forget’

It has been nine years since the beautiful city of Mumbai was scarred by the infamous 26/11 terror attacks. It wasn’t just an accident which can just vanish into the thin air from our memories. 10 terrorists breached the security of Mumbai with weapons, with a plan of bloodshed. The attacks lasted over 4 days, killing hundreds and injuring many. It wasn’t just another night to be forgotten, not just another accident to get blurred in the records.

President Ramnath Kovind tweeted on the 9th anniversary of hideous attacks that shook not only  India, but the entire world.

He wrote: On the ninth anniversary of the Mumbai terror attacks, we mourn with the families that lost their dear ones. And we recall with gratitude the security personnel who gave their lives in the battle against evil

Veteran actor Anupam Kher has a special message for his fans on this day. In the video he is heard saying, “Log kehte hain Mumbai wale bindass hai. Har haadse ke baad sab kuch bhool kar log kaam par nikal jaate hain. Par wo koi haadsa nahi tha. Wo hamla tha, mere sheher par, mere ghar par. Humare desh par. 26/11 ek tareekh nahi, memorial day hai. Yaad rakhenge kurbaani. Never forgive, never forget!”.

He signs off saying ‘Never forgive, never forget”.

Mumbai Police has also organised a Salutation Ceremony to pay homage to the people killed in the 26/11 terror attacks. The ceremony has taken place at the Shahid Smarak at Police Gymkhana at Marine Lines at 9:00 am today.

"My daughter was just 9 years old when she got shot, it was traumatic. Yes we are happy that Kasab was hanged but we will not be satisfied till the real mastermind sitting in Pakistan is punished", said the father of 26/11 attacks survivor Devika while talking to news agency ANI.

Unfortunately, the man who engineered these attacks, Hafiz Saeed was released before dawn on Friday after a three-judge panel in Pakistan ended his house arrest in eastern city of Lahore. This enraged both US and Indian authorities.
