Mumbai, June 3: Bollywood star Salman Khan took a cab at the Delhi airport to go to the hotel because of a logistic problem, says a media report.
Everyone was waiting for Salman to arrive at a Delhi hotel, but an hour later, instead of a flashy car, Salman came in a cab he had hailed at the airport and quietly went in, even as the stunned staff scrambled to welcome him.
There were 12 to 13 cars waiting for Salman at the airport, but the star opted to hail a cab.
A taxi with the number plate DL-1-RY 2359 dropped a very miffed looking Salman at the hotel.
Salman was angry with his hosts because there were two exits at the airport and the cars were parked at the other end.
Meanwhile, Satpal Kumar Kataria, the Meru Cabs cabbie who drove Salman, told Delhi TImes about the incident.
His version: "Hum airport ke calling line mein wait kar rahe thay. Meranumber aaney hi wala tha, itney mein maine dekha ki Salman Khan door aagey khade hain.
"Unkey saath do bodyguards thay. I told the other drivers, dekho, Salman Khan khada hai. My name was announced. I began to drive slowly towards the arrival, and thought I'll get a closer look at him."
"Bas,dekhte hi dekhte,one of the bodyguards, baad mein pata chala Shera naam hai unka, he stopped me."
"Salman bhai aagey, bilkul mere bagal mein baith gaye, aur peeche dono bodyguards."
"Boley,chalo,chalo. Maine kisi tarah poocha kahan jaana hai, toh hotel ka naam bataya. Ab main kya bataoon, shabd nahi hai mere paas, mujhe yakeen nahi ho raha tha."
"Us hotel mein main kayi baar jaa chuka hoon, phir bhi, khushi kahiye, ya excitement, woh hotel mere dimaag mein nahi aa raha tha."
"Salman bhai bole gaadi mein kaafi jagah hai, phir poocha Meru Cabs kiska hai, toh maine mere boss ka naam bataya."
"Phir unhone apne bhai ko phone kiya, baatein kari. Phir apas mein baat kar rahe thay kuch pick up karne ke arrangement ke baare mein."
"Two cars began to follow us. Main hotel pahunch gaya. Jaisey gaadi ruki,saab andar chaley gaye."
