New Delhi: Deepika Padukone must have never thought that her cleavage would surpass all the benchmarks of controversies that even her affairs and films couldn't create for her.
Speaking her final stance on the entire issue, when Deepika wrote a thorough letter pouring her heart out both as a woman and as an actress, she was again well appreciated for the move. However, being rigid yet again in another article dedicated to the issue titled, Dear Deepika…, the daily seems to be making an ‘anti-Deepika' region of its own.
While the news has faced even more flak than their ‘complimenting' tweet, the one thing that has pinched us to the core is their perspective on Miss Padukone's Bollywood deeds and stints. In their open letter, the daily has said “Deepika kept silent over this video for one year and chose to raise a furor and suddenly felt 'violated' only during the release of her movie Finding Fanny.”
Claiming that the lady has no right to object when she had already been a ‘calendar girl' for a ‘liquor brand,' the daily even said “Deepika, we accept your reel vs real argument, but what about all the times, and there have been many, when you have flaunted your body off screen — while dancing on stage, posing for magazine covers, or doing photo ops at movie promotional functions? What 'role' do you play there? So why the hypocrisy?”
Now several women organisations along with celebs have openly objected to such defensive behavior of the daily and have expressed their point of views.
Here, we tell you 4 crisp reasons why an actress like Deepika does not require a ‘publicity stunt' or a ‘cleavage controversy' to be more specific to promote herself or her films. Take a glance!
First, for the claimers to clear all their facts, Deepika is the one actress today whose success speaks for her grandeur. The lady had given four back-to-back hits last year – Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. With such a successful or highly successful career backhand in Indian cinema, there is no requirement of any ‘cheap or cleavage' publicity.
‘Deepika Padukone' – the name is enough!
Second, remember the time when she was thoroughly criticized for her dull performances in films like ‘Houseful' and flicks including ‘Lafangey Parinde,' ‘Karthik Calling Karthik' didn't do well at the box-office. Even while facing such a downfall in her Bollywood career, Deepika was much calm and composed and believed in herself. When the lady didn't opt for such controversial stunts then, there is no point she'll indulge in this now.
Third, making it into the limelight is not difficult for an actress like Deepika Padukone. For the fact that even her simple outing with a friend or Ranveer Singh collects enough eye balls or more buzz than a controversy can, qualifies as the reason why the lady just don't need to get involved in an issue like this.
To garb any new headline, she just needs to step out of her abode!
Fourth, any woman can object to anything or everything that she thinks is objectionable, to her sexuality, to her body or to her clothes. Shed the question ‘why now, when the news has been there for a yearlong!' There is no right time or a précised moment to object to thing that a woman finds is not suitable to her character or her being a woman.
Thus, if Deepika has perceived something as ‘undignified' or ‘disrespectful' to herself as a woman, no defense calling the objection as a ‘late action' can justify it!
