Mumbai, April 22: "Shootout At Wadala" director Sanjay Gupta feels it is unjustified to spread rumours and clarifies that Kangna Ranaut, missing so far from the film's promotions, will soon be seen promoting the crime thriller.

Reportedly, the actress is unhappy with the way she has been sidelined to favour Priyanka Chopra and Sunny Leone, both of whom have much-publicised item numbers in the film.

When asked, Gupta got upset. "I also read this morning.. You all are the media and you all have a very, very strong weapon in your hand, which could be a source, insider, friend, somebody from there... the person is never named."

"So, it's very convenient to cook up a story and then say, insider tells us the story, source tells us this. Name the source," he added.

He was speaking at a press conference here.

While Kangna is the female lead, Priyanka has an item number called "Babli Badmaash" and Sunny Leone too will be seen shaking a leg to "O Laila". The third item number "Ala Re Manya" has singer Sophie Choudry in it.

All the three actresses have been seen during the film's promotions and at the launch of their songs, but Kangna has been conspicuous by her absence.

Gupta says if Kangna has any query, he is willing to respond to that.

"But unless she does not speak...I would not give that much importance by reacting to it," he added.

In "Shootout At Wadala", Kangna will be seen as Vidya, love interest of gangster Manya Surve, played by John Abraham.

The film also features actors Anil Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee and Sonu Sood.

Rumour mills are abuzz with the stories of rift between Ekta Kapoor, the co-producer of "Shootout At Wadala", and Kangna.

But Gupta dismissed it. "Not at all and for what?"

On the contrary, Gupta is extremely proud of Kangna's work in the crime thriller based on real life story.

"As a matter of fact, I am extremely proud (of Kangana), I am very happy with her in the film, her performance, her look. She has worked very hard in the film," said Gupta, who has co-produced the film.

In "Shootout At Wadala", Kangna's look has been de-glamourised.

"For the film, she had to unlearn a lot. I don't think and I haven't seen any of Kangna's films, where she is completely de-glamourised," said Gupta.

He said that the actress will soon be seen promoting "Shootout At Wadala", which releases May 3.
