New Delhi: OK! So that is the inspiration Varun Dhawan has got to portray in his upcoming dark thriller ‘Badlapur'. The chocolate boy who till now refrained showing his anguish side admitted to have taken inspiration by none other than the ‘bhai' of Bollywood-Salman Khan of ‘Tere Naam' for his upcoming thriller.
The ‘Main Tera Hero' actor is an interview to a leading daily said that, “Salman Khan's character Radhe in Tere Naam was an inspiration (for Badlapur character). As far as my look in Badlapur is concerned, my elder brother Rohit was a reference point. I thought to myself that when I age, I may end up looking like him. So the bearded look actually came from Rohit.”
There are no doubts that Dabangg Khan has been a mentor and a true inspiration to the new breed of actors in Bollywood but rarely we have heard that his characters in the movies are the source of inspiration too.
While Varun alongside other actors is a big fan of Salman Khan in the real world, his action in the upcoming movie, now when we know that are inspired by Radhe Mohan of Tere Naam, truly recalls us that image.
Varun has transformed and indeed has transformed a lot for his path breaking movie which is set to release in February.
However, his character is written differently from what we have seen in Tere Naam which had Salman playing an obsessive lover, but Varun's gritty and gruesome role in Badlapur is nevertheless infatuating and hard-hitting.
Badlapur draws life of Raghu (Varun) who leads a simple life with his wife (Yami Gautam) and daughter but things take a sudden change when his wife gets killed, he's is trapped and thereafter he sets out to seek revenge from Liak (Nawazuddin Siddiqui).
The trailer out has already created a dark, mysterious and haunting aura around it with Varun taking the lead. Let's see does it bring a change in his fortunes when it releases on February 20th next year.
