New Delhi: The American TV network, ABC, committed a gaffe by confusing Priyanka Chopra with Yukta Mookhey in a promo for their interview with the Quantico star.
The error was pointed out on social media.
ABC was forced to make a swift apology, which was posted on the Twitter feed of Nightline, the late night ABC news program which was doing the interview.
Priyanka preferred to laugh off the blunder and later thanked Nightline for the correction.
The 33-year-old actress is currently hot property after Quantico premiered in the US last Sunday. The gaffe was especially embarrassing because Quantico is produced by none other than ABC.
Both Priyanka and Yukta are former Miss Worlds, which explains the error. In fact they won the title in successive years, with Yukta being crowned in 1999 and Priyanka in 2000. Being the previous winner, it was Yukta who placed the crown on Priyanka's head!
Yukta did not have the same success in films as her illustrious compatriot and her Bollywood career fizzled out in 2008 when she was last seen on the big screen in the film Memsahab.
Three other Indians have also won the Miss World beauty pageant: Reita Faria, Aishwarya Rai and Diana Hayden.
