‘Detective Byomkesh Baskhi' is based on the popular fiction by Bengali writer Sharandindu Bandopadhyay. The literary version has earlier been adapted for small screen in the year 1993. The show that used to be aired on Doordarshan was directed by Basu Chatterjee.
