Mumbai: Critics may have panned Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Dilwale' but the superstar is happy with the fact that people have actually liked the film.
With the talks of fierce competition from ‘Bajirao Mastani', nobody has noticed that the audiences are thoroughly enjoying the Rohit Shetty directed film.
The ‘Happy New Year' star says that he doesn't give a damn about the reviews and what matters is the reaction of the public.
SRK said, "Popular films usually have this logic. They are a popular, blockbuster, in your face, masala film. There are a lot of elements, which are beyond critical and artistic acclaim."
"But according to me, such films should be liked by the audience. I'm happy that the critics have liked it and disliked it, though I don't read it. But beyond that, the film we want to make is for a target, the audience, and as long they like it, I'm very happy. But all the views and all the reviews, God bless them all, I don't read them,” he added.
Though the collections of this SRK-Kajol starrer are on a lower side when compared to the actor's previous films and that's because of the big clash.
Despite the negative reviews, the collections of ‘Dilwale' are much more than ‘Bajirao Mastani' which proves that the ‘aam jaanta' is loving the film.
About the response to the film, he said, "There is a feeling of delight, we want it to do better, that families come to the theatres without any hesitation."
"In some places, there were situations where all families couldn't venture out. But we have made the film for families and I am hoping that the situation improves and all come to watch the film," he added.
