Mumbai: Yesteryears' Bollywood heroine Sridevi will make her comeback in September this year with English Vinglish, and she has performed a "Kaate nahi kat te" number in the film, says a media report.

Apart from working with French actor Mehdi Nebbou, Sridevi has apparently performed the  famous sensuous rain number, ‘Kaate nahi kat te…' from Mr India (1987) for this project.

The report said, the song also features co-actor Amitabh Bachchan, who has an extended cameo in the film

The song was filmed during an outdoor schedule in the US and Canada, while it was snowing.

The report says, the film's crew was discussing whether to include the song in their final cut or just use it for promotions, considering it was not shot on a professional camera.

The film is directed by debutant Gauri Shinde, director R Balki's wife.

The film will most probably be screened at the Toronto Film Festival in mid-September.

Sridevi plans to take her daughters, Janhavi and Khushi, with her to Canada for the screening.

“It's Sridevi's comeback film. And for her film to go to the Toronto Film Festival is a big deal. We want to take her daughters along,” says the spokesperson for the film.

Sridevi plays a housewife in the film. Her character enrolls for an English speaking course to please her family.

English Vinglish also features Adil Hussain. Nebbou will accompany Sridevi, Gauri and Balki to Canada.

Earlier, Aamir Khan's Laagan (2001) was screened at the same festival.
