New Delhi: Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan starrer ‘Khoobsurat' gave audience a another peppy number titled ‘Maa Ka Phone' but not many know that the song almost got entangled in a controversy with the Censor Board of Film Certification!
As per reports in a leading website the song took almost 15 days to get cleared by the Censors. The track Maa Ka Phone was found to have double meaning lyrics by the examining committee of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The panel refused to clear the song as some members felt one of the lines Teri Maa Ka Phone could be considered as a cuss word.
The examining committee at the CBFC held the song for duration of 15 days before giving it a clean chit a day before its release!
A source quoted by a website said, “There is a pause between Teri Maa Ka and Phone and that is the reason it was referred to the Revising Committee (RC).” But after revaluation of the track, the song was passed.
The source adds, “The track was submitted for clearance to the CBFC 15 days ago, but due to the recent chaos in the Censor Board it took a while for the makers to get the song cleared. It was eventually cleared by the RC which was a day before the song hit the TV screens last week."
The song is energetic number from the film and highly relatable.

A remake of the 1980 film with the same title, Khoobsurat stars Sonam Kapoor, Fawad Khan, Kirron Kher, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Ratna Pathak and Aamir Raza Hussain.
Produced by Disney and Rhea Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor's sister and father Anil Kapoor, ‘Khoobsurat' is directed by Shashank Ghosh and is supposed to hit the theaters on September 19.
