In Bollywood these days, film-makers and stars are getting more and more inclined towards making biopics.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are some of the Bollywood divas who have done a biopic. Now it's the turn of the Dabangg girl Sonakshi Sinha to join the list.
Sonakshi has been finalised to play the role of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's sister ‘Haseena' in her biopic.
The film titled ‘Haseena – The Queen of Mumbai' will be directed by Apoorva Lakhia.
Haseena was the seventh sibling of Dawood and was the closest to him out of his 12 siblings.
Sonakshi, who is currently seen as a judge in ‘Indian Idol Junior', is quite excited about her role as she always wanted to be part of a biopic. She also feels that it is a powerful and extremely challenging role for her as it's the polar opposite of the roles she has been doing so far.
The film will focus on the 40 year journey of Haseena, who died in 2014 having suffered a heart attack, depicting an emotional saga of a woman and what it meant to be the sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
Reportedly, the film will go on the floors early next year.
