New Delhi: Singham Returns has successfully completed its first week run at box office and has become the third biggest grosser of the year so far beating the lifetime collection of Akshay Kumar' ‘Holiday- A Soldier Is Never Off Duty' of Rs 112.18 cr nett in India.


The Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer on the last day of the week collected Rs 5.47 cr in India which took the week's total to Rs 112.59 cr nett.

The Rohit Shetty directorial has already surpassed the lifetime collection of this year's other big hits namely 2 States (Rs 102.13 cr) and Ek Villain (Rs 105.62 cr) and today it will surpass Salman Khan's ‘Jai Ho's lifetime business of Rs 116 cr nett in India.

The Rohit Shetty took just five days to enter Rs 100 cr club, third fastest flick ever to hit the ton after Krrish 3 and Chennai Express which took four days to accomplish the achievement. Dhoom 3 took just three days to hit the ton at box office.

Rani Mukerji's ‘Mardaani' today has opened in 1250 screens in India but response in the morning and the noon shows are dull considering the working day, however, the reviews are positive and the strong word of mouth will push collection up in the evening and night shows.

The other releases namely ‘Mad About Dance' and ‘Life Is Beautiful' have opened poor while the giant multi-starrer ‘Expendables 3' too but unexpectedly has got a poor opening at box office.

Singham Returns may slightly be affected by Mardaani, however, its dominance would continue at box office.
