New Delhi: Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Singham Returns' has got a huge opening day due to Independence Day at the box office.
As per early estimates the film has collected Rs. 30 cr nett on it's first day.
With this ‘Singham Returns' becomes the highest opener of 2014 beating Salman Khan starrer ‘Kick'. The movie is all set to be among top 3 highest opening day collections of all time along with ‘Ek Tha Tiger' and ‘Chennai Express'.
‘Singham Returns' also recorded highest opening day collections ever for Ajay Devgn; in comparison it's prequel ‘Singham', recorded Rs 9 Crore on it's opening day.
Singham Returns opened well and the film also had a strong sixty percent occupancy as the movie was released in around 3600 screens across the nation. The single screen collections were stronger than the multiplexes.

"Singham Returns" has received overwhelming response at the advance booking ticket counter.The advanced booking and the Independence Day holiday are expected as the main reasons for such massive rush. On the very first day, the shows were houseful in the noon while for evening and night shows, the advance booking was already in full swing.
"SinghamReturns has a HISTORIC start in the morning shows. Trade jubilant. Expecting a big, fat total on Day 1", Taran Adarsh had already declared just after the first show.
On the other hand Akshay Kumar's ‘Entertainment' has a record collection of Rs. 60.02 cr till now which includes the Friday collection of it's second week. The movie is going slowly and steadily but Singham Returns may create troubles for it.
The trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh confirmed the news, "#Entertainment Week 1: ? 56.50 cr. Week 2: Fri 3.52 cr. Grand total: ? 60.02 cr nett.India biz.".
"Singham Returns" is an action drama film and marks the return of hit jodi Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn. The actor director duo has previously given hit films including "Golmaal" series, "Bol Bachchan" and "Singham". The film also has Kareena kapoor in pivotal role.
