Chennai: Singer and music composer Shan Johnson, daughter of late music director Johnson Master, was found dead in her flat in Chennai on February 5, police said on Friday.
The cops revealed that Ms Johnson, 29, had come to her flat after completing a recording session and was scheduled to go for another assignment on Friday. After repeated calls on her mobile were met with no response, her mother and another close relative went to her flat in Ashok Nagar and found her dead. Other details are awaited.
Ms Johnson, a trained Carnatic and western musician, was best known for her work as a singer in the Malayalam films Praise The Lord and Thira, and for composing the soundtrack of His Name Is John. Shan's father was a renowned and respected music composer in Malayalam film industry. He died on August 18, 2011. The following year, his son Renn Johnson lost his life in a motorbike accident at the age of 23.
