New Delhi: “Makdee” fame actress Shweta Prasad is currently in a Government Rehabilitation Center after she was arrested in a prostitution racket in Hyderabad.

The actress was caught red-handed, when the Hyderabad Police raided a famous hotel at Banjara Hills. Shweta was there with many 'businessmen', who are also taken into custody.

Somebody tipped off the police about this racket and the cops thus ended up raiding the hotel. It is said that someone from the hotel management informed the cops about Shweta after some suspicious activity.
As per reports when lot of people started visiting Shweta's room in the hotel, then someone from the management called up the police. The hotel management was not happy with Shweta's behaviour in the hotel. More details on this will probably emerge after police questionings and interrogations.

National award winning actress Shweta Basu, who was arrested for prostitution in Hyderabad, has reportedly told the police that she turned to the flesh trade because no films were coming her way and she had run out of money.
However, this was not the first time Shweta's name has cropped up in this regard. Earlier, the actress was said to be caught in a compromising position during a sting operation by a Telugu channel.
She has been sent to rescue home run by a women and child welfare department where women rescued by police and those facing trial are given shelter during the trial period. The actress is reportedly doing fine in the rehab and is in friendly terms with the other residents. Shweta will be staying for three months in trial home.

Shweta shot to fame in 2002 when she won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for her role in the film ‘Makdee'. After which she featured in several TV serials and also worked in a few Bollywood films. Later she took forward her acting career to Telugu films.
