Kolkata, May 29: Working with Srijit Mukherjee for the third time in upcoming ‘Hemlock Society', popular playback singer Shreya Ghosal says the director is an immensely gifted person who has a very keen perception of music.

“I have been a regular fixture of Srijit's films, I had sung in ‘Autograph', I had lent my voice in ‘Baishe Srabon,' now I am back in ‘Hemlock Society' and the lines will grow on you as you keep listening,” Shreya said after crooning ‘Eito Ami Chai' number of the movie at its music launch here last evening.

“I myself have fallen in love with the lines and the track,” she said.

Shreya, who had earlier sang for Aniruddha Roy Choudhury's ‘Aparajita Tumi', ‘Antaheen' among other Bengali movies, said she felt all the tracks of the film will again strike a chord with the audience.

The film's music director Anupam Roy said the lyrics of ‘Hemlock Society' were from his own song bank, made up over years, like the earlier two films and he picked up some of the tracks based on the film's certain situations.

“I can't say how the songs of ‘Hemlock Society' will be different from the previous two films of Srijit where my lyrics had been used. In talks with the director I have just picked up some of the tracks,” Anupam said.

Srijit said, “Music has always played an important role in the progress of my film's story line, which is embedded with my style of film making.”

“But, while in Autograph or Baishe Srabon music was more used to carry the story forward and situational, here it will grow on the audience the more he listens and cannot separate the film with its music.

Bengali rockstar Rupam Islam, crooned ‘phiriye deoar gaan' of the film at the launch.

“I sought to do something out of the box and tried not to repeat himself in terms of the songs also which were starkly different from the last two films,” Srijit said.

The film will be released in the end of June.
