Chennai: Filmmaker Shankar, who spent over two years to complete his Tamil magnum opus "I", said Sunday he needs to learn from friend and director K.S. Ravi Kumar the art of making films fast.

Ravi Kumar completed Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil actioner "Lingaa" in less than six months.

"How does Ravi Kumar sir finish his films so quickly? I want to learn from him to make movies fast," Shankar told reporters here.

He was speaking at the audio launch of "Lingaa", which is slated to release Dec 12, coinciding with the superstar's birthday.

"I've been told the business of the film ('Lingaa') has already surpassed 'Enthiran'. I am sure it will do much better than any of Rajini sir's films," he said.

Shankar also heaped praise on the film's trailer, which was unveiled at the event.

Directed by Ravi Kumar, "Lingaa" also features Sonakshi Sinha, who is making her Tamil debut and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles.
