New Delhi: The king of romance - Shah Rukh Khan has today completed 23 glorious years in Bollywood. SRK has made his debut in Bollywood with Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti starrer 'Deewana.' The movie was released on June 25, 1992. The then star of that time Armaan Kohli was supposed to work as the second lead in this Raj Kanwar directorial movie.
But as they say, everything is destined and it was Khan who grabbed the opportunity. Even Khan, a TV star at that time, would have never thought it that he will rule the B-town for the next more than two decades.
'Deewana' was the story of a woman Kajal (late Divya Bharti) who loses her husband Ravi (Rishi Kapoor) in an accident. Later she falls for Raja (Shah Rukh Khan). The twist in the movie comes, when Ravi returns to the same city after Raja and Kajal's wedding.
Shah Rukh Khan won Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his powerful performance in the film. He was soon added to the galaxy of stars in the Indian cinema. After 'Deewana', there was no turning back for King Khan.
His iconic 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' opposite Kajol in 1995 completed 1000 weeks last year in Mumbai's Maratha Mandir theatre.
The last show of the iconic film was supposed to be on February 19, this year. But the Maratha Mandir management was flooded with requests to reinstate the movie based on which they decided to continue with the movie.
'Baazigar', 'Darr', 'Chamatkar' , 'Karan-Arjun', 'Duplicate', 'Baadshah', 'Pardes,' 'Dil Toh Paagal Hai', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'Devdas', 'Veer-Zaara', 'Swades', 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham', 'My Name Is Khan,' 'Om Shanti Om' and 'Chennai Express' are some of SRK's blockbusters that created magic on box office.
Now in 2015, Shah Rukh Khan is again paired with his old friend and hit co-star Kajol after 'My Name is Khan' in Rohit Shetty's next 'Dilwale'. The movie is in the production phase and is slated to release on December 25, this year.
Besides, 'Dilwale,' the Baadshah of Bollywood will be seen in forthcoming movies like 'Fan' and 'Raees'.
