New Delhi, March 14: The shorter format of the cricket will be back with a bang with Bollywood stars including Katrina Kaif, Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are all set to shimmer alongside international actress-singer Jennifer Lopez in the opening ceremony of the IPL 6 on April 2.
It is reported that IPL 5 champion Knight Riders' co-owners Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla production Red Chillies Entertainment and Sports Minister Madan Mitra will be hosting the ceremony and the opening match of the tournament.
"We are delighted to have tied up with Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd, which has a proven track record of organising and executing events on a grand scale," IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla said.
"The Opening Ceremony of the Pepsi IPL 2013 will be one of the most spectacular events ever witnessed, in keeping with what will follow in the tournament itself, over the following seven weeks," he said.
SRK's KKR defeated Chennai Superkings by 5 wickets in the final to win the last season of IPL. Yet another bombarding tournament is expected this year.
The opening ceremony will take place at the Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata on April 2nd.
