Shah Rukh Khan credited JK Rowling, says actor's Chief Digital Strategist

New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is not at fault says his Chief Digital Strategist Shailja. The actor duly credited author JK Rowling says Shailja. When the world is blantly blaming Shah Rukh Khan for plagerisim, his Chief Digital Strategist - Shailja has come to his rescue. She to her blog to put across few key points to explain that the actor had given credit to the author and not lifted excerpts from the speech.The drama started when a blogger Agratha mentioned in her blog called 'MeLaNGe' that the Shah Rukh Khan's speech was lifted from British author JK Rowling's speech 'The Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination.'Shailja in her blog has stated that Shah Rukh's AIMA speech was recycled as he had used the same content at the YPO too. She also mentioned that if quotes 'recycled' from earlier speeches are at times not quoted.She also took JK Rowling's name while stating that the author has also used popular lines from a management book by James Galbraith. Given below are few excerpts from both the speeches by, Shah Rukh Khan and J.K.Rowling (Now it's up to you to guess which belongs to whom.)Read it carefully:-Excerpts from 1st Speech:"I'd like to tell you all that life is not just a checklist of acquisitions, attainments and fulfillments. Life is difficult, and complicated, and beyond anyone's total control and the humility to know that will enable you to survive its vicissitudes." I've seen my parents go through it many times - it means a thousand petty humiliations and hardships."Excerpts from 2nd speech:"Poverty entails fear, and stress, and sometimes depression; it means a thousand petty humiliations and hardships."In case you are not able to differentiate the words of your popular Idol's then here's the clue, the excerpts from the 1st speech are from Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, while excerpts from 2nd speech are from J.K.Rowling. No, scratch that. They were exactly the words of Ms. Rowling."I hope your humility is helping you survive your failure's vicissitudes, Mr. Khan. Because this is B.S.! Stealing someone's speech is deplorable and keeping mum about its source is downright disgusting."I know many of you are probably thinking that it's just a few lines that have been ripped off, but the man literally quoted those lines verbatim and didn't even credit her for it. He came across as this humble and honest guy who spoke from his heart, while a couple of parts of his speech were clearly stolen."I don't know if his speech writer messed up or he intentionally stole it; either way, I don't like this one bit. And even if he did want to use parts of Rowling's speech, the least he could have done was credit her or maybe paraphrase some of those lines, but no. The man concluded his speech with the choicest of words plucked from Rowling's speech that earned him a standing ovation."Maybe he did have an impoverished childhood. Maybe he did live in poverty. Maybe he became the best that he could be after his failures. But does that justify blatantly stealing someone's words without giving them due credit? This to me, is despicable and is honestly very insulting to Rowling. I hope the media stops singing praises of his speech and actually points out where the parts of brilliance in his speech actually were from."
