Patna, Dec 13: Shah Rukh Khan's visit here today to promote his forthcoming film ‘Don 2 - The King Is Back' has been postponed, sparking controversy as the organiser blamed the local administration for it.
“Police and local administration prevent Shahrukh Khan from landing in Patna... We were ready to take off from Mumbai when local administration said that they will take action against people who bring Shah Rukh Khan to Patna,” organiser Spice Bhasha said in an SMS to mediapersons here.
Rubbishing the charge, Patna senior superintendent of police Alok Kumar told PTI that the film star might have deferred his visit because of visibility problem at the Jaya Prakash Narayan International Airport here.
“We have made all security arrangements for the show,” he said, adding that he would speak to the organisers.
SRK was to visit Patna today and other non-metropolitan cities afterwards to promote ‘Don 2', which according to director Farhan Akhtar, has “lots of heart-in-the-mouth stunts” that the star insisted on performing himself.
Meanwhile, there was a stampede-like situation at the venue here where SRK was scheduled to interact with mediamen during his visit. Disappointed fans, however, dispersed as the news of the cancellation spread.
