Mumbai, May 17: Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt reached Mumbai's Arthur Road jail at around 11 pm on Thursday after completing all paperwork at the Tada court.
The jail lights were already off. Two guards and an officer escorted Dutt to the after-barrack no 3 , a place where prisoners in transit are kept.
Jail officials offered dinner to Dutt, but the star refused to eat. He wanted a bottle of water, which was given to him.
A guard accompanying Dutt in the van later disclosed that the actor had wept during his travel from the court to the jail, and when he alighted from the vehicle, his eyes were moist.
Sources said, Dutt spent a sleepless night and changed his sleeping postures throughout. He appeared to be restless and sat up several times.
Jail officials enquired from Dutt whether he was feeling any chest pain, so that doctors could be called, but the star said, he was alright.
Throughout his travel from court to jail, and till the time he was lodged inside the after-barrack, Dutt remained silent and did not speak to anybody, sources said.
