Mumbai: Bollywood will soon have a brand new superhero. Salman Khan is all set to play a superhero in brother Sohail Khan's film Sher Khan.
Dabangg actor will essay the role of a Pathan with shoulder length hair and super powers.
Writer Rumi Jaffery told a leading daily that Salman Khan's role would be completely different from Ra.One and Krrish, He said, "Needless to say, this superhero will be quite different from Superman, Spider Man or the indigenous Krrish or G.One.
The movie is believed to be targeted at young children who are macho man Sallu's biggest fans.
It was also learnt that ‘Sher Khan' was initially meant to be a south Indian action hero Kona Venkatesh who wrote Salman's ‘Ready' was thus asked to write the screenplay.
But at that last minute, Sohail and Salman changed their mind and roped in Rumi Jaffery to write an action film for the kids.
Even scriptwriter and Salman's father Salim Khan ensured that the script had the core ingredients required in a Salman entertainer.
Producer Sohail said, “We all were counting on him (Salim Khan) to make Sher Khan one of the most special films in Bhai's career… Thanks to my father's contribution, the screenplay of Sher Khan has turned out to be out of the world!”
Shooting for the film will begin around October 2012.
