Mumbai: A 25-year-old food and health expert has filed a complaint against a man, whom she identifies as a relative of superstar Salman Khan, on the pretext of harassment after she rejected his marriage proposal.
The victim has filed complaint against one Abdulla Mirza Khan, whom she met at Salman's Bandra residence on March 14, 2014 when she was employed at the actor's house.
As per a leading daily's report, both victim and accused hailed from Andheri in Mumbai. The victim said that on discovering the same, Khan started contacting and visiting her place on the pretext of expanding her business.
It is learnt that Salman Khan's relatives have denied knowing any Abdulla.
As per the victim, this year on May 29, Khan visited the lady at her place and proposed to her for marriage, which she rejected.
In her statement, she said, “After that, he started threatening me. He said he wouldn't let me survive in the city and would spoil my image. As I was scared, I changed apartments. However, he'd come to the new building and abuse me.”
After that on September 19, at around 11:40 she received an e-mail from the social networking site Instagram informing her that her account had been hacked. An hour later, she received a similar message from Facebook also.
“He even hacked my social media profiles in order to spoil my reputation,” the complainant said in her statement, lodged at Oshiwara police station on Friday.
The accused has been booked under sections 354 (D) (any man who follows a woman and contacts, or attempts to contact such woman to foster personal interaction repeatedly despite a clear indication of disinterest by such woman), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of the Indian Penal Code along with sections 66 (A) 66 (C) and 67 of the Information Technology Act.
Senior police inspector Subash Khanvilkar from Oshiwara police station said, “We registered the FIR, and are hunting for the accused. The victim mentioned in the FIR that she met him at Salman Khan's residence but didn't specify the relationship between Abdulla and Khan. We are investigating the case thoroughly.”
