New Delhi: Salman Khan's sister is set to tie the knot with her fiancé Aayush Sharma today i.e. November 18, the same date Salman wanted to marry his then girlfriend few years back.
The bhai of Bollywood is bidding farewell to his beloved sister today. The date November 18 has special meaning in his life. It is the date when his parents got married 50 years ago. Interestingly Salman also came close to marrying a girl on the same day in the year 1999.
Filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala who is a very close friend of Salman also planned to marry on the same day so both could celebrate their anniversaries together.
As quoted by a leading daily, Sajid said, "We have been friends for more than 20 years. In 1999, we had decided to get married, which unfortunately didn't happen that year. I got married in 2004, but on the same day."
The filmmaker refused to give any more details such as who was the girl who almost got married to Salman that day.
Salman's parents Salim and Salma Khan got married on November 18 in 1964. The Khan family has double celebration today as their golden jubilee and Arpita's wedding.
It is also reported that Arpita's wedding was planned for early 2015 but it was her father Salim Khan who insisted on November 18 wedding so he could celebrate his golden jubilee with his daughter's wedding.
The wedding ceremony of Arpita will be a lavish affair as entire Falaknuma Palace of Hyderabad is booked for the celebration. Khan family flew to Hyderabad yesterday for the event. A reception is planned on November 21 in Mumbai.
