Film director Sooraj Barjatya, who came together with Salman Khan for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, will pay tribute to yesteryear's classic Mughal-e-Azam in his upcoming film.
As per the reports, he has constructed a Sheesh Mahal for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in Karjat. 55 years ago, a similar Sheesh Mahal was also built for Dilip Kumar's Mughal-e-Azam.
Veteran art director Nitin Desai is the man behind the creation of the sheesh mahal, which will play a very important part in the Salman Khan starrer.
The cast of the movie also cut a cake inside the sheesh mahal to celebrate Nitin's birthday, which falls on August 5. Interestingly, Mughal-e-Azam was also released on August 5 in the year 1960.
Sooraj Barjatya, who is known for his blockbuster family films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya', ‘Hum Apke Hain Koun', said that Mughal-e-Azam always inspired and overwhelmed him.
"I have always been inspired, awed and overwhelmed by Mughal-e-Azam - a film that has always fuelled my imagination as a writer and director. Everything about this film is iconic and we have indeed tried to pay homage to this cult classic in our film by constructing the sheesh mahal. It's our tribute to the film that shaped the Indian film industry in many many ways,” Sooraj said.
“Sheesh mahal plays a very intrinsic role in the plot of the film. How Salman's story and the sheesh mahal is also connected will be revealed when the film releases on November 12," he added.
