Nagpur: Bollywood megastar Salman Khan today clearly said he had neither any interest in AAP nor had he anything to do with the Aam Aadmi Party.
In town to promote his film Jai Ho slated for release on January 24, Salman Khan appealed to all political parties not to use the lyrics of his Aam Aadmi song in the film, directed by Sohail Khan.
The film features a song with the lyrics "Aam Aadmi udaas hai, baaki sab first class hai" with Salman grooving with a cast of dancers.
Salman said: "My film has nothing to do with the Aam Aadmi Party nor with any movement. If the system is corrupt, let the aam aadmi raise his awareness instead of blaming others. I fail to understand why the aam aadmi needs leaders to guide him"
Asked whether he would support the Aam Aadmi Party in the coming days, Salman replied in the negative, adding 'Arvind Kejriwal has won the election in Delhi, but he will have to prove himself".
Salman looked a bit hurt when he was constantly asked questions relating to Aam Aadmi Party. He said, I would appeal to all political parties including AAP not to use my dialogues on Aam Aadmi in the film. My film Jai Ho is full of action, drama, romance and emotions and I would request people to watch the film.
Asked about rise in incidences of crime against women, Salman Khan said there has been an overall decline in the character of people in society.
