Bollywood star Salman Khan on Thursday made up with his long-time foe  John Abraham at the Mehboob Studios. The two were not on talking terms for four-and-a-half years.

The patch-up happened on the sets of Rohit Dhawan's directorial debut Desi Boyz, which stars Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Chitrangada Singh in the lead roles and is being produced by Eros International. On chancing upon Salman at the sets, John wondered how the former would react after seeing him. When their eyes met, John smiled.

Sensing the discomfort in John's eyes, Salman promptly hugged him. An eyewitness said, “Actually, they both took a few steps towards each other. But the hug took everyone by surprise. Post that, there was a big celebration on the sets. Salman and John even had lunch together.”

Explaining why Salman came to the sets of Desi Boyz, our source said, “Sallu came to meet Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt who are acting in the film. Sanjay's name was recently added to the cast for a cameo.” Years ago, differences mainly over payments cropped up between Salman and John during their Rockstars stage shows in 2006.

By the time they acted in Ravi Chopra's Babul, there was so much animosity between them that it reflected on screen too.

Consecutively, though John worked with Salman's then-girlfriend Katrina Kaif in Yash Raj Films' New York, Salman refused to work with John's girlfriend Bipasha Basu. Abbas-Mastan had planned to cast Salman and Bipasha together in a mega project but the moment Salman learnt who the heroine was, he turned it down. But in June this year, Salman also ended his cold war with Bipasha, though in this case it was Bipasha who made the first move towards reconciliation.

While attending an awards ceremony in Sri Lanka, Bipasha walked into Salman's hotel room and spoke to him at length. Since then the two have been cordial with each other. Bipasha even attended Salman's Being Human party.

Ram Mirchandani, Chief Creative Officer, Eros International, was present on the sets on Thursday. He confirmed, “Yes, Salman and John met very warmly. Salman had come to visit Rohit, Akshay, John and Deepika.”
