New Delhi: It has been more than12 years since the hit-and-run case involving Salman Khan and the continuous delay has made court furious.  Irritated over the delays court ordered that it should end by December.

Salman Khan is accused of negligible driving and culpable homicide in the case where one person died and three others were injured. Salman has pleaded guilty and claims it was not him driving the car.

The prosecution told the court on Monday that the defense is deliberately trying to delay the trial. In response to the allegations Salman's lawyer Shrikant Shivade replied that he had not been provided with the list of the witnesses.

"We need the list of witnesses which hasn't been disclosed. If the witnesses are formal then the presence of the accused is not needed, as there is no need for identification," argued the lawyer asking to exempt Salman from appearing before the court.

Public Prosecutor in the case Pradip Garath opposed the exemption plea, saying that the defense asked to exempt the client in the last hearing on the grounds that he would appear in the next hearing.

Accusing the defense Pradip Garath said the defense is lying and trying to pressurise the prosecution by making false averments.

The court in answer to the arguments commented, "It's been almost 13 years since this case has been going on... it should end by December end,"

The public prosecutor also said that if the list of the witnesses is provided to the defense they might be influenced.

Two witnesses were examined by the court on Monday's hearing; one was an insurance agent and other a laundry owner.
