New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Saif Ali Khan has come under the dock, yet again for his infamous Taj brawl case. This time the speculations suggest that the actor might lose his Padma Award.
Is the new government thinking of taking back Saif Ali Khan's Padma award is the new buzz that's doing rounds. As per recent media reports, Union Home Ministry has asked Mumbai police to file a report on alleged Taj brawl case involving Padma awardee Saif Ali Khan, which has been pending since the past seven months.
Saif Ali Khan's alleged Taj brawl case has again come in news following a complaint from an RTI activist who has reportedly demanded that the actor should stripped off the coveted civic honour, as a Mumbai court has framed charges against the actor.
The Home Ministry in the response to activist Subhash Agrawal has written, "As regard to Saif Ali Khan, no response to this Ministry's letter No 1/3112014-Public dated August 20, 2014 has been received from Mumbai Police. Mumbai Police has been reminded to expedite the matter..."
The activist Subhash Agrawal's RTI also states that the actor has been involved in many criminal cases, still his name was recommended by the 'Award Committee'. "Film-actor is already facing several other criminal cases against him. An RTI response revealed that Saif Ali Khan, involved in many criminal cases, was recommended for Padma awards by 'Awards Committee' in its meeting without mentioning name of member of committee having recommended his name."
After so much of drama and RTIs being filed against the actor, it has to be seen if he will stripped off his Padma Award.
