New Delhi: As this clash of the titans is steaming up by each passing day, the audiences are having a ball with some or the other story coming out about ‘Dilwale' and ‘Bajirao Mastani' every now and then.

As the Monday collections of both the films are revealed, and ‘Bajirao Mastani' has taken the lead over ‘Dilwale', director Rohit Shetty has come out in the defense of his film.

It is clearly visible that the growth in the collections of the historical drama is because of its much stronger content but Rohit has a different point of view.

He feels that the collections are affected because of the ban at several places on his film.

He said, “We all were aware that ‘Dilwale' and ‘Bajirao Mastani' are coming together, so, I was prepared for that competition and the harm we will give each other. But I think what affected the Friday and Saturday collections were the ban in Rajasthan and MP.”

“Almost 40 per cent of the theatres were not showing the film and we resumed on Sunday morning. It's all mathematics, how many theaters we are running in we will get the collections according to that,” Rohit added.

The ‘Chennai Express' director continued, “Bans do harm the business, but when you go and talk to the people opposing the film, it all gets sorted. I have come to the conclusion that all this happens due to misunderstanding. And the issue easily gets resolved if you go and talk to them nicely.”

In the past few years we have seen the trend of content-driven films garnering much appreciation than the stars-driven ones. The audiences seem to be changing with the time as they now want to see a good story and not a big star. And now with the clash of ‘Dilwale' and ‘Bajirao Mastani', the fact gets further strengthened.
