Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh has been reportedly advised by his best friend Ram Gopal Varma not to play a nerd in his movies. Riteish played a nerd in Sujoy Ghosh's Aladin, and recently in Milap Zaveri's film.
And both films didn't do much for him or his image as a hero. Analysing this, Ram Gopal Varma who is very fond of Riteish apparently told him that he should now concentrate on movies where he is a ‘hero'.
Ramu is said to have told Riteish that the public likes to see a leading man who beats up the villain and walks into the sunset with the heroine. Unfortunately Riteish has been playing these seedha sadha characters who get bullied on screen, and naturally the junta doesn't even think of such guys as heroes.
So, from now on Riteish is going to be very choosy about the characters he accepts. Incidentally, one also heard Riteish was offered Karan Johar's Dostana 2. But he is still thinking about it. Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham are very much there in the film.
Riteish and another hero were reportedly to be an additional ‘gay' screen couple. Dostana 2 will most likely go on the floors in London this July... and Katrina Kaif is the girl that all the men — gay or otherwise — want to romance.
