New Delhi: Gone are those days, when Bollywood movies by the lies of Rajender Kumar lasted for 25 weeks at the theatres. With the face of entertainment changing, it is impossible for any movie to last more than 2-3 weeks at the box office.
‘Bajirao Mastani' has achieved the unattainable. The movie which released on 18th December last year is still running in theatres, making its eight week. Today, the movie has completed 50th day at theatres.
Trade analyst taran Adarsh tweeted to inform about the same.
This Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial opened to mix reviews but a strong word of mouth changed the fate of this movie. Every one who watched it, was in awe of the grandeur entertainment it offered. Some even went far by saying that it ‘Bajirao Mastani' shares the podium with classic ‘Mughal- E-Azam'.
It is also worth noting that theatres have dedicated the evening and night slots for the movie screening. This indicates that the movie is still seeing a great footfall. Despite releases like, ‘Wazir', ‘Airlift', ‘Mastiazaade' and even, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens', ‘Bajirao Mastani' is still galloping strong.

With a collection close to Rs 250 crores, ‘Bajirao Mastani' has emerged as a commercial success and one of the highest grossing movies of all time. It has swept many awards at all the award functions.
A tale of love between a Hindu ruler Peshwa Bajirao with a Muslim princess Mastani, ‘Bajirao Mastani' is perfect in every way. Actors Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Tanvi Azmi have delivered one of their career best performances. This is probably why the victory march of the movie is nowhere close to a finish.
