Radhika Apte who got showered with compliments for her impeccable acting in Sujoy Ghosh's short film “Ahalya” is a busy actress. Seems the actress is more than excited about her next project.
Which is obviously understandable, given she is going to be Rajnikanth's next heroine.
Not long ago, it was confirmed that the Badlapur actress has bagged the role of superstar Rajnikanth's heroine in his next film which is being directed by Pa Ranjith, after a lot of speculation.
Radhika Apte will be the fourth in the list of Bollywood actresses who have worked with Rajnikanth. Before her, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Robot, Sonakshi Sinha in Lingaa and Deepika Padukone in Rana and Kochadaiiyaan, have got the opportunity to work with him.
"It will take some time to sink in. I don't think there is anybody bigger than Rajini sir. And the director, Pa Ranjith, is exceptionally good. So I was extremely thrilled that it has worked out. And I am super excited to finally meet Rajinikanth," says the 29-year-old about her big project.
"I think it's a very rare opportunity. Usually, there's a huge competition too for something like this. So I feel fortunate," she says.
According to her, speaking Tamil is going to be her main struggle as she still finds the language “alien”.
Shedding light on the film where she will get to work with Rajnikanth, the actress smiles and adds, "The offer only was such that it was a very performance-oriented part and not just a song-and-dance role. I would have done it anyway. Just doing a film with him is great, but my role and director makes things even more special."
Given the stature of Rajnikanth, it is inevitable that Radhika Apte is in for a huge blockbuster.
