Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan had said that after the dollar fiasco, he would return to India only if he was 'respectfully invited'.

Looks like he has get an  invitation to sing at a pre-wedding function  in Delhi to be hosted by Industrialist Dhoot's family on March 11, says a media report, though Rahat's manager denies it.

“It's a special musical night, and Rahat is the star attraction. The function will be held at the Dhoot residence on Amrita Shergill Marg on March 11. Rahat will probably perform for 2-3 hours, and there are a few other performances lined up too. His usual fee for such a performance would be 20-25 lakh”, says the report quoting a source.

The source adds that such entertainment nights, especially with performances by international singers, have become quite popular in Delhi.

In the last two months itself, Delhi weddings have seen two performances by UK-based band Stereo Nation and Dholi Deep from the US.

Says the source, “The city's seen half a dozen ‘Rahat' nights in the past year. They've become so popular that one often also sees gatecrashers at these shaadis.”

Kailash Kher too, will perform at the same function. However, Chitresh Shrivastava, who manages Rahat's concerts in India, denied that he is performing in Delhi.

Rahat and his manager had to pay fines of Rs 15 lakh each for carrying  a big bundle of undeclared dollars at the Delhi airport.

They were let off by the DIrectorate of Revenue Intelligence after they paid up the fines, with the benign intervention of Pakistan government and the External Affairs ministry.
