New Delhi: Looks like the Chopra sisters- Priyanka and Parineeti are destined to clash at box office not for once but for innumerable times. It was September 5th last year when Priyanka's ‘Zanjeer' and Parineeti ‘Shuddh Desi Romance' collided and the result went in favour of the latter at box office while the former collapsed. Yet again, they have crossed swords with their ambitious projects and are set to battle it out at box office on the same date.
While recently, the trailer of Parineeti Chopra's ‘Daawat-e-Ishq' came out with its release date i.e., September 5th this year, the latest development embarked has in her sister Priyanka Chopra's next titled Mary Kom, a biopic on a female boxer with the same name, to hit alongside on the same date.
“Get set for the clash between Chopra sisters on 5 September: Priyanka - #MaryKom versus Parineeti - #DaawatEIshq”, tweets trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.
Now whether it's a co-incidence or intentional is best known to them. However, the makers of Daawat-E-Ishq already locked September 5th as the release date while Mary Kom's release date is preponed from October 2nd this year since two big flicks Bang Bang starring Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif and Haider featuring Shahid Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor have already locked horns on that date.
According to a leading daily, a source to Yash Raj Films was quoted as saying, "We have no clue about this. We announced our release many months ago. So whoever chooses to jump in now, is doing so out of the queue. Our best wishes to them.”
‘Daawat-e-Ishq' which also stars Aditya Roy Kapoor and Anupam Kher, is a romantic-comedy while Mary Kom is a biographical flick on the life of athlete Mary Kom.
Daawat-e-Ishq and Mary Kom will be second outing of the year for both Parineeti and Priyanka after ‘Hasee Toh Phasee' and ‘Gunday' respectively.
But the question remains that will Priyanka be able to beat her sister this time or will lose the battle yet again like last year? Well, let's wait and watch for that.
