It's amazing. The most beautiful woman of the Ramayana age was the demon Ravana's sister Shurpanakha, and Ketan Mehta's 3-D animated Ramayan The Epic has Shurpanakha looking similar to our own Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra!
Director Chetan Desai says, "In Hindu mythology, Shurpanakha was known as the most beautiful woman of her age. We had to find someone as stunning as Shurpanakha. No Indian celebrity could be found to match her face. It was then that I remembered Priyanka in Aitraaz and how she looked then. I referenced Shurpanakha's character from Priyanka's basic looks in Aitraaz."
For those who do not know about the Ramayana story, it was Shurpanakha who triggered the battle between Rama and Ravana. Shurpanakha went to the forest to entice Rama, a married man, and in a fit of rage, Rama's brother Lakshmana snipped off her nose and ears and sent her back crying to Ravana's court. It was then that Ravana decided to abduct Rama's wife Sita.
