New Delhi: Aamir Khan's PK has done the unthinkable again. While last week it crossed nett Rs 300 cr mark comfortably in domestic market, the overall collection of the movie has gone beyond Rs 600 cr mark by its third week.
PK will now get a stiff competition from today's release ‘Tevar' starring Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha at box office. The movie has released in over 3000 screens all over bringing down PK's number of screens to almost half. Directed by debutant Amit Ravindernath Sharma, the masala-entertainer has opened to an average occupancy of around 30-35 % in morning shows.
According to a leading website, Rajasthan and Delhi have claimed a good response while most of the collection is expected to come from Mumbai and the central belts.
Tevar has received mixed reviews, which should work in its favour considering viewers didn't have any options in last couple of weeks.
And if it gets the positive word of mouth, the box office collection would pick up by the weekend. Looking at the occupancy, by today the movie should rake in around Rs 8 cr nett in India.
Meanwhile, PK within eighteen days of its release has made Rs 607 cr gross worldwide including Rs 150 cr from overseas. This is yet another humongous milestone for this Rajkumar Hirani directorial, which is on a recording-breaking spree since its release on December 19 last year.
It already shattered Dhoom 3's worldwide collection of Rs 542 cr and was anticipated to cross Rs 600 cr mark and so it has.
The movie on an average of Rs 3 cr per day kept its box office run intact in third week. The nett total of PK is Rs 320 cr in three weeks. With another week in hand anything around Rs 330 cr cr will be commendable.
