New Delhi: Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to vent their ire over the steepest ever hike in petrol prices with many cracking jokes and taking jibes at the government's decision.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan cracked a joke on the micro-blogging site saying, “Petrol up Rs 7.5 : Pump attendant - ‘Kitne ka daloon ?' ! Mumbaikar - ‘2-4 rupye ka car ke upar spray kar de bhai, jalana hai.”

Actor Boman Irani posted, “Another petrol price hike!!!  Thankfully the ticket prices of ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari' will still cost the same.”

Funnyman Javed Jaffrey wrote, “The Monk who sold his Ferrari foresaw the petrol hike,” in an oblique reference to Robin Sharma's best-selling novel.

“Petrol becomes more expensive, again. May be it's time to improve public transportation and seriously develop alternate sources of energy,” model-turned-actress Gul Panag said.

“Every one seems to be filling petrol! Rs.7.50 hike?? Can we all get back to bicycles please? It's getting worse,” tweeted actress Divya Dutta.

Isha Koppikar wrote, “Anyone Selling a Horse. Need 1 Urgently. Petrol gone up by 7.50/ltr. Car back in the stable.  Feeding a Horse will work out cheaper as I still want Horse Power.”

Actor Kunal Kapoor said, “Petrol is up to 78 rs per litre!!! Forget cars, banks need to come up with EMI schemes for petrol as well now!.”

Whereas, actor Kabir Bedi said, “Oil Companies have losses of 145,000 Crore in last 4 years. Petrol price rise unavoidable unless Govt reduces taxes. will they?”
