Panaji: National-award winning director Onir said his upcoming human-psyche drama ‘Shab' would be released during first quarter of next year.  “It is a great film. In the movie we have tried to blend fashion with the character. Extensive work has been done on each of the details of the character,” Onir (45) told PTI.

Set in Delhi, ‘Shab' is an edgy, dark and complex relationship story of four characters who are leading a double life and all of a sudden their masks come off.  Onir said that fashion designer Wendell Rodricks, who is designing the look and clothes for the lead character in the movie, has given several inputs for the movie.

“I am very excited to be working with Wendell. He is such a talented fashion designer and he is involved with the process of film-making. This is a kind of involvement which is very important for the film,” he said.

The director said fashion is important for the film.  “It is like giving a stylish look for film. The fashion reflects character of a person. It is very important to dress a character properly. We have used a lot of fashion in the movie. For instance, when we are showing the dual nature of the person he is styled with black and white clothes,” said Onir.

The ‘Bas Ek Pal' helmer said a lot of discussion went in before styling the character.

“Wendell's involvement came as a great help. You can see a lot of creative energy in the movie,” he added.
