New Delhi: Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is reinventing his own boundaries with time. From minimal roles in movies to being Bollywood's most bankable actor, he belongs to a rare species in the filmy dunia.
And now, Nawaz is set to team up with director Anurag Kashyap again. This time, he will be playing the infamous psycho killer Raman Raghav. Raghav was the psycho killer who confessed murdering 23 people along the Central Railway Line in 1966. His terror was so widespread that slum dwellers were scared to sleep in the open and the lucky ones who had a roof above their head slept with the doors and windows closed.
“Anurag Kashyap was keen that Nawaz play the role. It's an interesting character. The unit starts shooting in the next 10 days because Nawaz doesn't have any dates free after that,” told a source to a leading daily.

It would be interesting to see Nawazuddin essay the role of the psychopath. His last biopic, ‘Manjhi: The Mountain Man' was the story of a love struck man who carved a path out of a mountain after his wife died falling from it. But, Raman is nowhere close to Manjhi.
This is not the first time Raghav's life has interested a filmmaker. In 1978, veteran Tamil director Bharathiraja's psychological-thriller, Sigappu Rojakkal was based on his life. It had Kamal Haasan as the killer and Sridevi his victim.
Actress Shruti Haasan, Kamal's daughter, has been approached for the role of Krithika. The girl Krithika witnessed a murder and she was a great help to the police in solving the case. "Yes, Shruti has been approached for an interesting role in the Anurag Kashyap film and she is keen to sign the film. Anurag is a splendid director and wants her on board. But she has not allotted dates for the film yet," said the insider.
Since Nawazuddin is a busy actor, the film starts shooting in 10 days from now, i.e., 25th September.
